These terms and conditions apply to both the institute's website (www.iogs.org) and the training courses it provides. Before using this website or enrolling in any of our training courses, please carefully read the terms and conditions.

 

If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use our website or enroll in our training courses. You agree to these terms by using the Website.

 

Please keep in mind that we do change or amend our terms and conditions from time to time, so please review them whenever you visit our website or before enrolling in our training courses.

SITE ACCESS

You will be able to access the majority of this website without registering with us. However, certain portions of this website will be inaccessible unless you register.

USE OF WEBSITE

You can access our website for personal reasons, as well as print and download anything from it, provided that you do not modify any content without our permission. Without our permission, materials on this website mustn't be republished online or offline.

We or our licensors own the copyright and other intellectual property rights in any material on this Website, which must not be duplicated without our prior approval.

Without our prior written consent, no element of this Website can be copied or reproduced.

ENROLLMENT IN A COURSE AND EXAMINATION OFFERED BY IOGS

For participating in an IOGS Online and/or Class Room Based Course and Examination, you would have to get registered through our portal https://www.iogs.org/enroll-a-course, would have to pay the relevant course fee through our payment gateway provider either PayPal, Stripe, or RazorPay.

 

USD is set as the primary payment method to enroll in the course, however, you will get the option to pay the course fee in your local currency as well. The currency conversion (if applicable) from USD to your local currency is made through www.xe.com.

Enrollment and Learning Process

If you enrolled in an IOGS online course and exam, IOGS will send you an enrollment confirmation email as soon as you enroll in a course and pay the course fee. And, within the 24 hours of course enrollment, we send you the Login credentials (i.e. your LMS/User ID and Password) for your online study via the IOGS Learning Management System (LMS). You will be able to access the course you enrolled in via LMS and begin your studies as soon as you receive your login credentials. You can watch a video tutorial by clicking here to understand how to log in and access an ONLINE course offered by IOGS.

 

After you log in to the LMS, you can study the course by going through the course materials in the LMS (i.e. course modules, videos, book, etc.) then take the quizzes to check your progress and understanding of the course materials, this will prepare you for the relevant examination.

 

You will have 1-full year of LMS access to study the course online and at your pace and convenience, then take the relevant exam anytime within this period. A constant quiz score of 80% or more and a course completion rate of 100% indicate that you have prepared for the exam. You must complete the course and take your exam within 1-year of the course enrollment, failing to do this the LMS access gets expired, and an additional fee may be applicable to reactivate and extend the course or exam access. The login credential gets disabled as soon as the online examination is completed.

EXAM RULES AND GUIDELINES (ONLINE)

The rules and guidelines that you must follow when taking our PROCTORED exam online are as follows:​

General Exam Rules:

  • There is a 45 minutes timer set for the exam, and the countdown will display the time remaining for you to complete the exam. When the timer runs out, the exam ends by default. After that, NO action is required.

  • If you drop your exam, it will not be submitted, and results will not be generated/published.

  • Once the exam is finished, it cannot be resumed.

Unusual Activities During the Exam

  • Our online exams are proctored-based, which means that your activities will be monitored and recorded. It is recommended that you follow the following rules and guidelines for a smooth exam experience;

    • Make sure you enable the web camera and the microphone for the exam proctoring.

    • Make sure you place yourself in the center of the exam screen/camera, and your face must be fully visible on the screen during the exam.

    • Make sure to take the exam in a quiet room with little or no disturbance, and the room is well lit.

    • Don’t leave your browser window and exam screen at any time when the exam begins.

    • Focus on answering the questions, and keep looking at the screen rather than moving your body, or turning your neck/eyes.

    • Don’t allow a person other than you on the screen, or nearby you.

    • ​Don’t talk, speak, or read out the questions loudly for anyone else for the sake of help.

    • You must not use or wear the headphone while the exam

    • Don’t keep your mobile phone in your hand or any other device nearby you, and make sure your mobile phone is switched off or in silent mode.

    • Don’t write or use paper, notes, or books while the exam.

    • We will only publish the exam result if it complies with the above rules/guidelines
       

If we discover a violation of the above rules, an email notification will be sent advising of the rule violation, the exam will not be processed/marked and the result will not be published. Those who break our established rules and instructions during the exam will not have the opportunity to retake the exam online and will have to take the exam at our training center.

Unusual Behaviours During the Exam

The following behaviors/actions with the web browser and/or device you are using for the exam are considered a violation of exam rules, which will lead to immediate suspension/termination of a running exam:

  • Minimizing the browser

  • Resizing the browser

  • Open a new tab

  • Open a new program

  • Taking a screenshot

  • Pressing Ctrl + C

  • Pressing Ctrl + V

  • Pressing Print Screen

  • Pressing F12


Prerequisites for the Exam

  • A good and stable internet connection (minimum 1.5 MBPS).

  • Activate/enable your web camera and microphone for the exam proctoring

  • Make sure you are using the latest browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge).

  • Check if your device is fully charged and/or plugged with the electricity.

  • You are taking your exam in a quiet place/room.

Cancellation or Class Transfer Policy of an Online Course

Once you get enrolled and pay the fee the online course can not be canceled and/or changed. All our online courses are NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE.

​

Classroom Based Course & Examination (Enrollment and Learning Process)

All our classroom-based courses are scheduled in India and Overseas and are conducted in a hotel or IOGS-approved training center. If you get enrolled for an IOGS classroom-based course and examination, you will receive a confirmation email from training@iogs.org to your email id registered with us.

 

The email will contain your enrollment number and the course study material of the course you have enrolled for. The study material is to be used to prepare for the course/exam you have enrolled in.

 

You as a registered candidate for a classroom-based training/exam will receive venue details, training/examination date & time, along with the location map to participate in the course. The venue details are sent through email to a candidate email registered with us before 30 days of a course start. You would have to report and tell your enrollment number to IOGS representative at the venue/training center for participating in a scheduled course you have enrolled in.

​

You as a registered candidate participating in a classroom-based course must report yourself at the venue on the scheduled date and time for participating in the training/examination you have enrolled in. If you do not report or appear at the venue on the scheduled date and time for participating in the scheduled course, this is considered a NO SHOW, and no refund is provided in the case of NO SHOW.

 

Cancellation or Class Transfer Policy of a Classroom-Based Courses

In the event of cancellation by a candidate, the course fee is refunded less than a cancellation charge of USD100 of the total course fee. To transfer one class to another, the class transfer fee of USD100 of the total course fee paid by the candidate.

If the cancellation request received by a candidate less than 15 days of a class start, we reserve the right to retain the whole course fee. No cancellation and/or class transfer is done when a request received less than 15 days of a class start.

​

We reserve the right to alter the advertised training course(s) and/or examination schedule(s), which may include cancellation of an event or training course.

​

We reserve the right to alter or amend the advertised content of any course or examination without notifying a candidate in order to continuously provide a high-quality service or due to circumstances beyond our control.

​

When an event or classroom-based training/course is canceled, candidates with confirmed bookings/registration will be offered alternative dates (without any charge), if none can be provided then a full refund will be given to the candidate.

​

We will not be liable for any losses or expenses, including consequential, arising from any such alterations or amendments to the event/training and/or examination content and schedule including cancellation.

​

Accommodation

You are responsible for arranging your accommodation, transportation, and food by yourself, however, accommodation may be arranged at a reasonable price/cost.

​

EXAMINATION RESULT

Upon completion of an IOGS examination, you can check your result online using your enrollment number and name on our website https://www.iogs.org/exam_result. It takes maximum of 2 weeks to mark and publish the result after examination.

​

CERTIFICATE AND ITS VALIDITY

​IOGS issues a Certificate of Achievement and card to all successful candidates who get 70% or higher marks in the exam.

 

The validity of the issued certificate will be 3 years that can be renewed for further 3 or 5 years before it gets expired following the renewal requirements of IOGS Certification Scheme.

 

CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION AND ACCEPTANCE

All certificates issued from IOGS can be verified at our website https://www.iogs.org/student_verification.

Clients in the oil and gas industry may accept our qualifications immediately, while others may have specific requirements for approving credentials. These requirements may vary by client and country. While some clients may require a certain certification, others may conduct interviews and/or exams for all candidates, regardless of their qualification or certification.

Before enrolling in our courses, we recommend that you check with your work circle, country, or client about the acceptance of a qualification/certification in carrying out a certain work or tasks in the oil and gas industry.

CERTIFICATE DOWNLOAD

You will be able to get the certificate and card copies from our website as soon as your results appear to be successful using the certificate download option. Please keep in mind that following the pandemic, we stopped producing hard copies of the certificate and card.

​

EXAM FAIL NOTIFICATION

If you do not pass your exam, i.e. if your exam score is less than 70%, we will consider you failed the exam. In this instance, we will provide you with an exam failure notification.

 

After you check your results, you will be able to download the notification from the option provided. The notification contains your exam scores and area of improvement before you attempt the exam again.

​

EXAM RETAKE

All unsuccessful candidates have the option to retake the examination within 90 days of receiving the exam failure notification.

 

Retaking the exam will incur an additional re-take fee of $95/-. To retake the exam, send an email to training@iogs.org with your enrollment number and the result notification.

 

​BOOKS AND MERCHANDIZES

There are several course books that are available on our website to purchase and study our courses. The PDF book is available to download instantly after you make the payment. When you pay for a PDF book, a download link appears on the screen that you would need to click to download the book. However, if the link doesn't appear after the payment and/or doesn't work you can write to us at training@iogs.org to have the book emailed to you.

If you purchase a printed book or merchandise, we will ship it to your address within 3 business days and provide you with shipping tracking details. Our standard shipping method is Registered postal services which takes 3-5 business days to deliver within India. , and 7 to 10 business days abroad.

​

If you want us to dispatch the shipment with a shipping method other than standard shipping method such as DTDC or DHL, an additional shipment fee between 30 - 90 USD/shipment is applicable for the same. For more information on customized shipment, please send an email to training@iogs.org once you check your result. A shipment tracking number is provided to you through email as soon as we dispatch a certificate to your address.

Note: All of our merchandise and books are non-refundable. We advise you to check your needs before ordering as an order once placed cannot be canceled or replaced (if delivered).

SITE UPTIME

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that this website is available 24 hours every day, 365 days per year. However, websites do sometimes encounter downtime due to the server and, other technical issues. Therefore, we will not be liable if this website is unavailable at any time. This Website may be temporarily unavailable due to issues such as system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons beyond our control. Where possible we will try to give our visitors advance warning of maintenance issues but shall not be obliged to do so.

With the exception of personally identifiable information, the use of which is covered under our Privacy Policy, any material you send or post to this Website shall be considered non-proprietary and not confidential.
