Classroom (Course & Exam)
15 Days
WHO SHOULD ENROLL
The diploma in passive fireproofing course is most suitable for individuals who have recently completed 10th, 12th, or graduation, and looking forward to gaining professional skills to add in their curriculum that may help them grab an opportunity to work for the oil and gas industry in the passive fireproofnig work field, either as applicator, foreman, supervisor, engineer, manager, or specifier.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the diploma in passive fireproofing course, the students will have the hands-on theoretical and practical knowledge of fireproofing, will be able to identify the two most common PFP materials i.e. intumescent and cementitious, their use, application requirements, like surface preparation, pinning, meshing, and the like. Carry out the fireproofing work in accordance with the industry specification and applicable standards.
DIPLOMA IN PASSIVE FIREPROOFING
Course and Exam Fee: USD525/-
For quality and credible returns, the oil and gas facility owners or employers, always hire personnel who have been trained or expertly educated to achieve the necessary skills and have proven to be competent in the corresponding work field. Holding an IOGS diploma qualification means that you are well trained and equipped to get a job done for your employer in a way that untrained employees will not be able to.
The diploma in passive fireproofing course will make you learn every aspect of fireproofing to carry out the fireproofing work either, as an applicator, foreman, supervisor, engineer, or specifier in the oil refinery, chemical, petrochemical, or industrial process plant.
The course is led by a tutor, held at a set date, time, and location, and runs for 15 days (100 hours). The students receive hands-on theoretical and practical training during the training session.
At the end of the course, students take a closed book exam with practical assessment, which, if cleared, makes them eligible to achieving a diploma qualification in thermal insulation.

What Passive Fireproofing is?
When we speak of passive fire protection or passive fireproofing, we generally are referring to a wide range of practices and products. For the sake of better understanding, we can describe PFP as specific materials that are ingrained in our surrounding structures with the sole purpose of stopping fires from starting or spreading.
The most fireproofing material used for the offshore environment to protect the steel from a fire is an epoxy-based intumescent fireproofing that expands. Another favorite fireproofing material is vermiculite, which is a cementitious based fireproofing material that doesn't go to any significant changes during the fire.
